4 Things to Remember When Meeting with Jesus

How to Approach Time with Jesus

I would encourage young people to meet with Jesus through reading the Gospels, because that is where Jesus is primarily revealed. But the question they might have is, Well, how do I do this? So I would say first of all, pray and ask for God's help and God's blessing. Pray, Show me, Jesus. Help me to meet with Jesus.

Secondly, have a plan. So, if you're reading the Gospel of Luke, plan to read five, six, or seven verses a day. Plan to read in the same place and at the same time each day. Then, it just becomes part of your routine.

This reading plan introduces children ages 6–12 to Jesus Christ over the course of a year, working through the 4 Gospel narratives and what they have to teach about the Savior of the world.

The third thing I'd say is to be patient. You won't meet with Jesus every time you read the Bible; but be patient, persevere, and concentrate as you read, and he will make himself known to you as you read. And lastly, be positive as you approach the Bible. There's no other book that promises you that you can meet anyone, far less Jesus, as you read.

Go to your reading with hope, with optimism, and with the expectation that you will meet with this wonderful person, the Lord Jesus Christ.

So go to your reading with hope, with optimism, and with the expectation that you will meet with this wonderful person, the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray, have a plan, be patient, and be positive—and you will meet with Jesus.
