ESV Single Column Journaling Bible, Artist Series
The ESV Single Column Journaling Bible, Artist Series is a collection of journaling Bibles meant to celebrate the treasure of God’s Word through the artistic talents of his people. These Bibles feature commissioned cover artwork designed by Christian artists such as Peter Voth, Ruth Chou Simons, and Joshua Noom. Each artist offers a visual entry point focused on a particular biblical theme or passage, setting a tone of reflection as readers engage with the Bible.
Each of these decorative hardcover Bibles retains the features of the original ESV Single Column Journaling Bible, such as cream-colored paper, a single-column page layout, and lines in the margin for note taking. These features coupled with captivating cover artwork make each Bible conducive to creative engagement with God’s Word.

Lulie’s work is featured on the cover of the ESV Single Column Journaling Bible, Artist Series. Below, we asked her a few questions about her work and the way his faith informs it.
Who or what has influenced your work the most?
Most of what inspires my work is taking the art and interiors of my childhood (growing up in a Southern, traditional style home) and meeting that with a fresh take.
What are a couple of adjectives you'd use to describe your work?
I try to approach art and pattern making with a hope of making the final product classic and joyful!
How do you hope people respond to your work?
My hope and prayer is that people will open this book and Lord will reveal himself in a very real way. That they would see a God that is very much alive and that is so beautiful. That the words would speak to their soul and that they could be captured and wooed by the Savior that loves them more than even words.
What was your heart for creating the artwork for this Bible?
Floral patterns are so much fun for me to dream up! For the cover artwork, I imagined a timeless book cover that could sit out on a coffee table with a soft and lovely pallet.
This is probably one of my favorite projects I've worked on, really because it transcends timelessness. Here I am as an artist, trying to make something beautiful, something that will last, something that speaks joy into lives. . . and I will only scratch the surface. A teeny little tiny scratch. Man, will I fall short!
This book is truly timeless, has never, will never, go out of style. It is really all that we have! I think of the opportunity as one of my favorite projects yet because the main people I'm doing this for are my children. More than leaving them a picture they can hang on the wall from their mother, I can leave them this. One of my greatest hopes is that the Lord reveals himself to them and that their life is forever changed by that love. I pray that for my personal family, and for every person who picks up this book off of a shelf.
