An Urgent Ministry Opportunity—Global Study Bibles for Leaders in Africa and Asia
A Special Message from Crossway's President
Our greatest passion at Crossway, as a not-for-profit ministry, is to reach the people of the world with the Gospel and the life-transforming Truth of God’s Word.
Simply stated, “The Gospel . . . is the power of God for salvation” (Romans 1:16). And apart from the Gospel—graciously revealed by God in the pages of the Bible—people everywhere are utterly lost and without hope.
But in many places throughout India, Africa, and Asia, there are few Bibles and almost no doctrinally sound Bible study resources.
Meeting This Need on a Massive Scale
This is why I’ve written this blog post . . . to ask (if the Lord should lead you) to consider making a gift of support to help meet this need on a massive scale—that is, to distribute 250,000 free copies of the ESV Global Study Bible, to strategic leaders in strategic places, where the need is greatest. And in addition to this, to provide the Global Study Bible free digitally, online and through mobile apps on an equally massive scale.
To accomplish this goal, three friends of Crossway have graciously provided matching grants of nearly $500,000, toward the total of more than $1,000,000 needed to complete the Global Study Bible project. Our prayer is that the Lord may move many who read this post to provide the remaining $500,000 needed for the project, by midnight, December 31, 2014.
A Glimpse of What the Lord Is Already Doing
There already is an enormous need and appreciation for the Global Study Bible, and the Lord recently allowed us to see a glimpse of what He is already doing in India and Africa. Through several pilot distribution projects, 10,000 Global Study Bibles have already been strategically given to Christian leaders in 40 countries around the world.
For many of these Christian leaders, the Global Study Bible will be the only doctrinally sound Bible-teaching content that they have. This will be an essential resource to equip them for Gospel ministry to their own people—often over against the influence of cults and false doctrine that is so prevalent in India, Africa, and many parts of Asia.
What Your Support Will Accomplish

To completely underwrite the cost of printing production for 250,000 Global Study Bibles, including delivery to strategic Christian leaders around the world, especially in India, Africa, and Asia.

To partner with key global ministries (including The Gospel Coalition, the Hindustan Bible Institute, Awana International, the Lausanne Movement, and many more) to ensure personal on-site delivery, where the need is greatest.

To help provide the means for free digital delivery of the Global Study Bible—free everywhere, all the time, online and on mobile phones, and via mobile apps on every major digital device.
