Nancy Guthrie's Story of Hope in the Midst of Grief

When Nancy Guthrie's daughter, Hope, was born, she quickly learned that something was wrong. Doctors informed her and her husband, David, that all of the little things that weren't quite right with Hope were evidence of a deeper, more serious problem. They were surprised to hear that their daughter had a rare metabolic disorder and would not live past her first birthday.

And yet, in the midst of their incredible pain, God was at work. In this video, Nancy shares their story of grief as she recounts their experience dealing with the death of not one, but two children—and the hope that God provided in the midst of that painful experience through those around them.

Nancy Guthrie teaches the Bible at her church, Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Franklin, Tennessee, and at conferences worldwide. She and her husband, David, are the cohosts of the GriefShare video series used in more than 10,000 churches nationwide and also host Respite Retreats for couples who have experienced the death of a child. Guthrie is also the host of Help Me Teach the Bible, a podcast of the Gospel Coalition.
