Be My Witnesses
It's day 5 of Simply Read, an 8-day Bible reading challenge adapted from ESV Reader’s Bible, Six-Volume Set aimed at helping us set aside time—prolonged time—to immerse ourselves in God’s Word as we enter this holiday season.
We begin the book of Acts with stories of the apostles dispersing to spread the news of Christ. At Penecost, we see the promised Holy Spirit descend, equipping them with power to proclaim the gospel to the ends of the earth.
As the apostles travel, performing signs and wonders, they meet with some opposition, but the Lord added daily to their numbers those who were being saved. The first church takes roots as believers come together and share in everything, never ceasing to preach the name of Jesus.
