Beyond Jerusalem
It's day 6 of Simply Read, an 8-day Bible reading challenge adapted from ESV Reader’s Bible, Six-Volume Set aimed at helping us set aside time—prolonged time—to immerse ourselves in God’s Word as we enter this holiday season.
We continue in the book of Acts with the story of Stephen—the first Christian martyr and then the story of Philip who seamlessly shares Christ with a questioning Ethiopian eunuch that he meets on the road from Jerusalem.
Meanwhile Saul of Tarsus watches with contempt as the followers of Christ gain momentum in their message. But the Lord is not thwarted by opposition, as he continues to strengthen the faith of his followers—now even beyond Jerusalem.
